Today is World Prematurity Day, a day to raise awareness of premature birth and the huge impact it can have on families.

 

An estimated 53,000 babies are born prematurely each year in the UK – 1 in 13 births.

 

Having a premature baby comes with its own complex journey of emotions – often a lot of questions, uncertainty and worries – and can have a lasting impact on a baby’s health.
