All women between the age of 50 and 70 (before their 71st birthday) will receive an invitation for breast screening once every three years, where they will receive an appointment for a mammogram.

Breast screening can detect breast cancer that is at an early stage when it cannot be seen or felt, and this early detection can save lives and may mean simpler and more successful treatment.

There are various screening sites across North Lancashire and South Cumbria. The mammographer will ALWAYS be female.
